George Allen
Malone
Jan 28, 1934 — Dec 22, 2020
On December 22, 2020, George Allen Malone, 54 year resident of Pleasant Hill, MS, finished his race. His body succumbed to weakness brought on by heart and blood disease, but his mind and spirit remained strong. He was born in Capleville, TN on January 28, 1934 to Ferdinand Malone, Jr. and Virginia Krebs Malone, and after growing up there, graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1952. On August 5, 1955, he was blessed to marry Joann Chester in Memphis. Her personality and talents were
perfect complements to his own, and together with the Lord, they enjoyed 65 years of marriage, prospered spiritually and materially, and forged a legacy of faith and love. Their influence spans the globe. Their children rise up and call them blessed.
Early in their marriage, Mr. Malone served 2 years in the Army. Following his honorable discharge, besides farming, he worked for many years for Orgill Brothers Hardware Distribution and the Jordan Companies, and retired from Quebecor Printing in 1999.
He was a steadfast disciple of Jesus Christ, served as a deacon in the Winchester Road and Hunter's Run Churches of Christ, and was a well-loved member of the Valley Grove Church of Christ at his death. Though quiet and unassuming, Mr. Malone was well known for his integrity, faithfulness, commitment, generosity, and work ethic. He said little, but when he spoke people listened.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, James C. Malone, John R. Malone, and Ferdinand Malone, III, and his sister Barbara Bustard. He is survived by the love of his life, Joann Chester Malone, their daughter Jodi Stanford (Danny) of Bartlett, TN, their sons, George Allen Malone, Jr. (Cindi) of Gallatin, TN, Glenn Ray Malone (Linda) of Nashville, TN, and Mark Edward Malone (Tari) of Hernando, MS, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He is also survived by one brother, Charles J. Malone of Como, MS and two sisters, Mary Johnson of Fredericksburg, MD and Mim Thornton of South Portland, ME, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Though he will be sorely missed, those who knew him best rejoice that he lived by faith and died in hope.
Memorials may be sent to Sacred Selections* to assist worthy families in the adoption of needy children or to another charity of your choice. *Sacred Selections, 4144 Shores Road, Murfreesboro, TN 37128.
