George William (Bill) Plunk, 87, of Memphis, TN went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Joe O. Plunk, and his mother, Maggie M. Plunk, as well as his siblings and granddaughter, Lillian Angela Plunk.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, JoAnn Watson Plunk, his two children, Keith Plunk (Robin) & Ronda Gilmer. He is survived by his grandkids, Brandon Plunk, Lierin McKee, Jordan Plunk, Haylee Gilmer, Zach Gilmer & 11 great grandkids.

Bill grew up In McNairy County with three brothers and three sisters. He met the love of his life in Selmer. After they married they moved to Lorraine, OH for his job. While living in OH, they welcomed their son. He and the family moved back to TN in 1961. In 1972, Bill & brother-in-law Jarvis Russom opened a DX gas station on Jackson Ave. About a year later, Bill took a job with Shelby County as a mechanic. He stayed with the county until he retired 33 years later. He continued to work on cars at his home until he was physically unable to. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family.
