Georgiana Mae Schelkopf Williams went to be with her Lord on April 16, 2020. She is survived by her sons Wayne Williams (Carolyn) of Knoxville, TN and Ken Williams (Debbie) of Courtland, MS, 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Bernard V. (Bill) Williams, her daughter, Barbara Williams Ruff and son, Bruce Williams.
Georgiana was born on November 03, 1922 in Chicago, IL to George and Marjory Schelkopf. She was a faithful church member throughout her life after accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior in her early teens. She served in her church as a choir member, Sunday school teacher and director of Vacation Bible School for several years. She was actively involved in mission organizations at her church and was a member for several years of Bible Study Fellowship which was held at Whitehaven Baptist Church. Georgiana held various jobs as a secretary including many years at Tayloe Paper Company and Central Southern Freight both in Memphis, TN. Prior to that she worked at the YMCA in Whitehaven.
Following retirement Georgiana and Bill enjoyed traveling both home and abroad and then later she blessed her children by taking them on several trips.
Georgiana lived a long life and in her last years was lovingly cared for by the staff at Providence Assisted Living in Batesville, MS. Even though having dementia she was always cheerful and caring toward others.
