Gerald D. Hobbs, 92, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at his home in Hernando, MS. Mr. Hobbs was born in Trenton, MO on July 2, 1919. He is a WWII Army Veteran where he served in Europe. He retired from Illinois Central Railroad and is a member of Nesbit Church of Christ where he once served as a deacon. Gerald is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Eva McDaniel Hobbs and three brothers, Bill, Will and Don Hobbs. He is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Sue and David Jones; one grandson and granddaughter in-law, Ryan and Melanie Jones, all of Hernando, MS; two brothers, Ken Hobbs of Harrison, AR and Robert Hobbs of Eureka, CA; three sisters: Wilma Little of Crockett, CA, Helen Prosser of Pacheco, CA and Barbara Coughran, of N. Carolina. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 16 at Forest Hill South with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery. The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their love and concern, especially Tami, Felicia, Tootie and Frenchie.
