Mrs. Geraldine "Dean" Hendren Davis, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2020.

Geraldine was the daughter of the late Mintye Pyles and Chester Walker Hendren and was born on August 5, 1923 in Nauvoo, Tennessee. She was raised with her nine brothers and sisters in Dyer, Tennessee until she married her late husband of 73 years, William Bryan Davis, on Christmas Eve in 1940. They were blessed with four children, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren during the course of their life together in the Memphis area.

She was a charter member of Georgian Hills Baptist Church from its founding in the late 1950s and was a choir member and taught Sunday School for many years. Bowling was a great love and she was active in a league at Northgate Bowling Lanes for many years and continued to bowl until she was 80. Geraldine spent many an afternoon or evening watching the St. Louis Cardinals, her favorite sports team. Puzzles of any kind, from word to jigsaw, were a favorite past-time. She also couldn't pass up a John Wayne Western on TV. Geraldine also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and nobody left her table hungry.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband William in 2014, her son, William Glenn Davis in 2009, and her granddaughter, Amy Fortner in 2015.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Davis (Kay) of Granite City, IL and her daughters, Nelda Jackson of Cordova, TN, and Janet Wilson of Arlington, TN, her grandchildren, Kim Davis, Mike Davis (Heidi,) Jason Wilson (Breahn,) April Shamoun (Jimmy,) Brandon Jackson, Tim Jackson (Diane - fiancé,) and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held graveside at Forest Hill East Cemetery on December 28, 2020, at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital @ stjude.org
