Gilbert Hamm, Jr., 81, of Shingle Springs, CA died peacefully in hospice on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the Sacramento VA Medical Center in Mather, CA. He was born on October 10, 1933. He is survived by his former wife, Faye Ann Taylor; three sons: Richard Steven Hamm, Michael Wayne Hamm and his son, Hunter Wayne Hamm; Gilbert Jason Hamm and his two daughters, Madison Lee Hamm and Kinslee Ann Hamm. He was the youngest and last surviving child of his four siblings; Perry, Audria, Maggie and Celia. He was the first in our family to ever graduate high school as well as college. He received his Bachelor of Arts in 1972 from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. He served honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a Radar Technician on the North American F-86 Sabre. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 with services to follow at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Hill East Cemetery.
