Gladys Maude Sutton Starnes of Memphis, TN was born on June 2, 1916 and went home to be with our Lord on September 4, 2016. She lived in Dickson, TN with her daughter, Phyllis and her family and was formerly of Memphis, TN.

Her wonderful sense of humor and caring for others will always be remembered. Her family and the Lord were the most important things in her wonderful life. She will by missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Starnes; son Buddy J. Starnes; parents John and Mattie Sutton; brothers, Howard, George, John, Ralph; sisters, Elizabeth Weaver, Mary White; and step-son, Charles H. Starnes.

She leaves her daughter Phyllis Smith and husband Kent Smith, daughter Linda Starnes, daughter-in-law Trish Starnes, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 12 p.m. and service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7 at Forest Hill Mid-Town Funeral Home, 1616 South Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis, TN 38106.
