Gloria Crosby Giannini passed peacefully away on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 in the arms of Jesus, knowing that her job on earth was done, She was born April 20, 1925 in Memphis, TN to the late Thomas and Eva (Bargiachi) Crosby. Gloria and Angelo L. Giannini were married April 20, 1950 in Memphis, TN at St. Patrick Catholic Church. They enjoyed their life in Memphis with their close-knit family and raised four children.
Gloria and Angelo were long time communicants of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where she was very involved in many activities and an intricate part of the Mother Cabrini Circle that helps those in need. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her favorite pastimes included sewing, cooking and taking care of her family. She loved her family and babysitting her grandchildren, who became the legacy of her love. We will miss her dearly, her kind and gentle ways.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo Giannini, son-in-law, Bob Carimi, sisters, Kathryn Micci, Geraldine Wright, and brother, Andrew Crosby. Gloria is survived by daughters, Joyce Carimi, Ann (Sam) Muffoletto, Jane (Ward) Mayer, and son, Peter (Mary Anne) Giannini. Grandchildren: Grady (Carolina) Harbor, Tina (Jeff) Bramlett, Jenny (Marvin) McKenzie, Angela (John) Edwards, Josh (Alexis) Giannini, Bobby (Brittney) Carimi, Andy Carimi, April (Michael) Moore, Nina (James) Garguilo, Anthony Muffoletto, Ann-e Cuviello. Gloria leaves 15 great-grandchildren and 8 nieces and 6 nephews. Her family would like to thank Ave Maria, St. Luke cottage and St. Joseph cottage caregivers and nurses for the excellent care and love they showed to her while she lived there.
Visitation and Funeral Mass will be at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, on _Friday, January 5, 2018, 10:30am - noon, followed by the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ave Maria Home, 2805 Charles Bryan Rd., Memphis, TN 38134, or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church - Mother Cabrini, 1425 E. Shelby Drive, Memphis, TN 38116 or Alzheimer''s Association - Mid South Chapter.
