Grace Flournoy Hardison, 102, died on April 2, 2011, at home in Germantown. She was born September 17, 1909, in Mason, Tennessee. She lived in Mason as a child and later attended school at the Mississippi Synodical College in Holly Springs. Grace was a life long Episcopalian and attended Calvary Episcopal Church most of her adult life. She was a member of the Mary and Martha Guild and worked at the Calvary Waffle Shop during Lent until she was in her mid nineties. She had family buried at Old Trinity Episcopal Church in Mason, Tennessee. She enjoyed going there for the service and picnic on the grounds on Trinity Sunday. Grace was a charming lady. She was good company and always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was an avid reader all of her life and made beautiful needlepoint pillows until just a few years ago. Grace was predeceased by her parents, Clarence Selden and Grace Edmonds Flournoy and by her husband, Joseph Shelton Hardison. She was also predeceased by her two children, Joseph Shelton Hardison, Jr. and Grace Flournoy Hardison Vance (Bee) and by her sister, Marjorie Flournoy Springhorn. She is survived by her grandchildren, Frances Vance Montgomery, Mary Vance Forsdick, and Joseph Steuterman Hardison. She leaves six great-grandchildren. She also leaves her special care givers, Ella Mae Gloster, Annie Mae Gladney, Wanda Woodall and Jessica Rios. Memorials may be sent to the Old Trinity Fund, P.O. Box 99, Mason, TN 38049.
