Gracie Mae Buchanan, 82, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at her daughters home in Byhalia, MS. She leaves behind one daughter, Tammy Acree (Chad); one son, Tony Bradley (Twana); five grandchildren, Kenneth Pierce (Brittany), Kevin Pierce (Kelsey), Brandi Stewart (Austin), Rebecca Bradley, Anthony Bradley; seven great grandchildren, Haven Pierce, Savannah Mills, Jace Mills, Easton Stewart, Maddox Pierce, Kynleigh Stewart, Levi Garrett; and her caregiver, Karen Alonzo. She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy Kenneth Buchanan: her parents, James and Mary Shelton; and one sister, Barbara Smith.

Gracie was a joy to be around and loved spending time with family and friends, so much so that she got a job as a school cafeteria lunch lady just so she could be close to her grandchildren, who she loved so dearly and everyone knows they could do no wrong. She was a huge animal lover and in her free time she enjoyed taking care of her cats and dogs and brushing her pet pot bellied pig, Lola, who too could do nothing wrong. In her younger years she played basketball and softball and still had a fastball just a few years ago. Gracie loved watching her grandkids play basketball, baseball and softball and having a good time.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 12:00-1:00p.m. at Centerhill Baptist Church, 8787 Centerhill Rd., Olive Branch, MS 38654, with funeral services starting at 1:00p.m. Graveside services will follow at Forest Hill South 2545 E Holmes Rd., Memphis, TN 38118.
