Southaven - GRADY LEROY MAYFIELD, 89, born July 23, 1925 in Adamsville, TN passed away on December 6, 2014 at his home in Southaven, MS. After growing up in Independence, MS, he served in the US Navy aboard the A/C USS Saidor during WWII. He then retired from Kellogg''s after 30 years. Family was his main focus in life. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Doris Kilpatrick Mayfield. He was also preceded in death by his parents William Jesse Mayfield and Annie Moore Mayfield. His three brothers and three sisters C.H. Pete Mayfield, Floyd E. Mayfield, Hoover Mayfield, Leoda O''Daniel, Ruby Carpenter, and Veo Hornaday. Mr. Mayfield leaves his son Leroy (Evonne) Mayfield and daughter Mary Pat (Moochie) Waldlran. Eight grandchildren Robin Fiveash, Rebecca Grant, Rhonda Smith, Russell Mayfield, Shelley French Michael Waldran, Rachel Waldan, Ted Mayfield and ten great-grandchildren. Mr. Mayfield''s (Papaw''s) constant wit and sense of humor has touched many lives in a special way and leaves family and friends with a lifetime of memories. Papaw will be most remembered as a "Man of a Strong Constitution." Visitation, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 9 and service 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 10 all at Forest Hill South Funeral Home.
