GREGORY ROBERT MYERS, age 70, of Bartlett, TN, passed away on December 3, 2022 following a short illness. Greg was born at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA, on June 6, 1952, and graduated from Millington High School in 1970. He was married to the love of his life, Rita Gayle Mallory Myers on July 21, 1979. Greg and Rita welcomed two boys, Jesse and Jordan, who were the lights of their lives. Greg worked as a plumber, first at Holmes Services, then at the University of Memphis, obtaining several awards of recognition for his services. Greg and Rita enjoyed attending their sons' sporting events, particularly their baseball games. They never missed an opportunity to cheer on the Bartlett Panthers. Greg was also an avid fan of the Memphis Tigers and the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoying watching many games on tv with his favorite Pepsi and Pall Malls. Greg was a friend to many, always lending a helping hand where needed, from his plumbing expertise to a tidbit of sports history. He was solid, steadfast and loyal, and his family and friends knew they could always depend on him. Greg is survived by his two sons, Jesse Paul (Meghann) Myers of Houston, TX and Jordan Robert Myers of Bartlett, TN, as well as his grandchildren Ella Mallory Myers of Bartlett, TN, and Jackson Paul Myers, Audrey Gayle Myers, and August James Myers of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rita Gayle Mallory Myers, as well as his parents, Robert Hough Myers and Dolores Dowell Myers, brothers Jeff Myers and David Myers, and sister Cheryl Myers Starnes. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on December 8, 2022 at Forest Hill Funeral Home, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133, with a visitation for friends and family at 1:00 pm.
"In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital or a local organization for Santas for foster children. Thank you."
