Gwinn Thomas Basye, 87 passed away June 23, 2016. He was born to Arch and Jewell Basye in Fowlkes, TN. He moved to Memphis and had a 39 year career with The Kroger Co. retiring as Director of Receiving Operations for the Kroger Meat Company. He then became Division Chief for the Shelby County Juvenile Court Volunteer Services and a special Deputy for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. Gwinn was a life member of the O.K. Houck Masonic Lodge and a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved to play cards, go dancing to Big Band Music, hunt, and play golf with his countless friends. Gwinn was full of life and had a delightful sense of humor. Gwinn is survived by his sons Gary (June), Rande (Charm), Greg (Stephanie), many grandchildren, and his sister, Stella York. Visitation will be at Forest Hill Funeral Home on Whitten Rd. Tuesday June 28th from 12-2 p.m. with a family burial in Bruceville, TN following visitation.
