Hargis Reaves Blassingame, 92, of Cordova, TN passed away peacefully at home Friday, March 22, 2013. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, retired from Schering-Plough Inc. after 35 years as Quality Control Manager and a WW II Army veteran. Mr. Blassingame was born in Jumpertown, MS. He was preceded in death by his sister, Willetta Dixon and brothers, Ivan and John Blassingame. He is survived by his wife Margaret; daughters, Lynn Peeples (Dennis) of Marshall County, MS, JaDeane Moore (Danny) of Cordova, TN and a step-daughter, Pam Martello (Mike) of Germantown, TN; grandchildren, James Fargo (Anna) of Canton, OH, Lana Fowler (Brandon) of Germantown, TN, Michael Shade of Germantown, TN and Susan Shade of Memphis, TN. Mr. Blassingame is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Anna Noah, Emily and Allie Fargo, Nicholas and Farrah Fowler and Victoria Shade. The family requests that memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 8899 Trinity Rd., Cordova, TN or the Alzheimer''s Association. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Services will be at 9:30 A.M., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery following the service.
