Harley Edgar Gylfe, 89, of Bartlett, TN passed away on May 30, 2012, at home following a long illness. He was born July 31, 1922, in Clay County, SD to Gust and Mabel (Shogren) Gylfe. He married Trinidad Garcia in New York City in 1957. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Southeastern University in Washington, DC. He was an Air Force veteran of WWII, a Special Agent in the FBI for thirty years, manager of the Work Release Program at the Shelby County Correction Center, and he retired as the Administrator of Security for the Shelby County Government. He was active in church, serving on the vestry at St. Elisabeth''s Episcopal, St. Philip Episcopal, and St. James Anglican Churches. Harley leaves his loving wife of 55 year, Trini; a son, Edward Gylfe (Kathy) of Clearwater, FL; two daughters, Susan Gylfe of Cordova, and Karen Baggett (James) of Ocean Springs, MS; as well as three grandsons, Peter Gylfe, Allen Gylfe, and Jonathan Baggett; a granddaughter, Katherine Baggett; and a step granddaughter Erika Frishe; a younger brother and sister, Elwood Gylfe and Arlette Kretchmer A private family graveside service will be held at Forest Hills East Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 461 S. Prescott, Memphis, TN 38111 on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. James Anglican Church, 461 S. Prescott, Memphis, TN 38111, or the charity of the donor''s choice.
