Obituary

Harold Quay Douglas, 86, passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2020. He had retired from Schering Plough in 1995 as a supervisor of the Compounding Department after 37 years of service.  He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid gardener and landscaper, always taking great pride in the appearance of the yards he tended. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop and always had a great story or joke to share with others. Quay was a former deacon at Leaclair Baptist Church in Memphis and a current member of Ellendale Baptist Church of Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Polie and Errlene Douglas of Pontotoc, MS and his sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and Herbert Holley, also of Pontotoc. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Martha, his son Danny (Marty), daughter Denise Lumley, five grandchildren - Julie Glover (Todd), Jonathan Douglas, Nicole Byars (Chad), Cole Lumley (Kerri) and Cameron Lumley, three great-grandchildren - Aidan, Adalynn and Alyssa Byars, all of Memphis and his brother Jackie Douglas (Nell) of Pontotoc. Visitation with his family will be Tuesday, February 25, 2020, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM  with funeral services following on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East 901-382-1000
