Harry Steven Coleman Sr. was born August 7, 1944 to the late Floyd and Erma Coleman in St. Louis, MO. Harry began life with 2 half sisters by his mother, Martha and Georgia, and a half brother by his father, Guy Coleman. From the union of his mother and father, Harry was the oldest of 4 boys (Floyd, David and Roger). Each 2 years younger than the last, the boys were close and have many fond memories of each other. Growing up, the Coleman clan didn''t always know where their next meal was coming from, but always knew they could count on their parents'' love and the camaraderie of brothers that was second to none.

After graduating from Memphis Catholic High School, he volunteered to join the Army and was stationed in Germany. Harry and Peggy were wed on January 21, 1967 and recently celebrated 50 years together. Harry left the Army in 1968 and soon thereafter began working as a chemical operator. Over the next 40 years, the company changed names several times but Harry remained a dedicated employee until he was forced to retire because of his health in 2008.

The couple was blessed with a son, Harry Steven Jr., and a daughter, Amy Marie. They bought a home in Bartlett, TN in 1977 and spent 40 happy years there. Harry loved to bowl and gamble, especially at the blackjack tables. He was also a numismatist and, at the bewilderment of his family, would spend hours looking at his coin collection.

Harry passed away April 6, 2017 and is survived by Peggy and Amy (Robby) and her children; Autumn, Tristen and Tanner. He will also be missed by his sisters, brothers, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
