In Loving Memory of Harry Rawlinson Hearon
Harry Rawlinson Hearon, age 89 passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 4, 2025. Harry is the son of William Robertson Hearon Sr. and Lula Belle
Rawlinson Hearon was born April 14, 1936, in Mobile, AL. The Hearon's then moved to Birmingham, AL where his father worked as a processing manager for Barbers Ice Cream. They were longtime members at East End Baptist Church. Harry attended East End High School and at the end of his senior year, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps where he served three years, was promoted to Sargent and then in 1957 was honorably discharged.
Harry decided to relocate to Memphis, TN where he attended Memphis State University. He took his first job at McKesson Robbins where he met his wife, Kaye Todd. After they married in 1960, they established a home in Birmingham, AL. They were blessed with three daughters Kim, Shelia and Barbara. Harry and Kaye then moved back to Memphis, TN , where they welcomed their son, Todd. Harry worked for Bunge Corporation in West Memphis, Rust in Birmingham and in 1982 was hired by Federal Express where he remained until his retirement in 2002. He was a Senior Project Manager in Sort Systems Development, where he was responsible for finding locations, contractors and overseeing the building of Hubs among other duties for Federal Express.
After retirement, Harry and Kaye enjoyed traveling, small projects around their home and was involved in Sphinx (A chapter of the Cotton Carnival). Harry also enjoyed smoking his pipe and talking about his days in the Marine Corps. He was proud to be a Veteran and could tell you stories about Camp Lejeune, Paris Island and Camp Pendleton not to mention his days in Japan. He was a lifelong fan of Alabama Football and loved visiting Historical sites and Battlefields. He and Kaye always loved visiting with the grandchildren and going to their games and events.
Harry is survived by his three daughters, Kim Peel (John), Shelia Renzulli (Michael), Barbara Hearon, son, Todd (Christie). one brother Jimmy Hearon, six grandchildren, Haley Peel, Robert Peel (Myria), Emily Peel Carrasquilla (Juan), Victoria Renzulli, Kristen Dulin Lavigne (Philip) and Timothy Dalton Dulin, five great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Kaye Todd Hearon, his parents William (Bill) and Lula Belle Hearon, his brother William (Bill) Hearon Jr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 1:30 PM with the funeral to follow at 2:00 PM at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East.
