Harry Harmon Summer, 88, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee went to be with the Lord and his favorite girl, Nina Mae Williams Summer, his bride of 67 years, two months, two weeks, and 6 days on July 11, 2017.

Harry was born on April 6, 1929 to the late Harmon D. and Lillian Carter Summer in Jackson, Tennessee. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1947 and attended Lambuth College, later obtaining a BBA from the former Memphis State University. He received a Master''s Degree from the University of Illinois, as well as a Ph.D., and taught Marketing at Memphis State University (University of Memphis) for over 30 years. He later helped establish a graduate program in Marketing at Faulkner University.

Harry proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning the rank of Sergeant.

He was baptized at the Highland Avenue Church of Christ (now North Jackson), and after moving to Memphis, was a member of the Park Avenue Church of Christ, where he served as an elder. In later years, he served as an elder at the Germantown Church of Christ until he and his wife moved to Murfreesboro, TN, where he attended Kingwood Church of Christ.

He was married on January 7, 1950 to Nina Mae Williams of Bethel Springs and Memphis, Tennessee. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2017. He was also predeceased by his parents; a sister, Clarice June Summer, and a brother, Jack D. Summer; granddaughter, Sarah Kaye LeMar; and a great-granddaughter, Lila Kaye Siegfried.

He is survived by his children, daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Keith LeMar of Memphis, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Ross Clinton of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Kevin LeMar, Claire Martin, Phillip LeMar, Catherine Clinton, Ike Clinton, Karen Siegfried, and Stephen LeMar; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Frances and Jackie Christie; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Susan Summer; and sister-in-law, Susie Summer.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 12:30 - 2:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. All services and interment will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East on Whitten Road in Memphis.
