Hazel Mae Russell, 90, of Memphis, TN, went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2015. She retired from the Navy. Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her husband, Osvel Hughes Russell and a grandson, Dennis Russell, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Russell (Larry) Crider; son, Dennis K (Lisa) Russell, Sr.; 6 siblings, Macel Newton, William Hamp Newton, James Lacy Newton, Patsy Ann Hungerford, Polly Beasley, Peggy Campbell; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Crider, Houston Russell, Winston Russell; and great grandchildren. Visitation will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, September 30 until service begins at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
