Helen L. Cannon, 93, went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2018 at her daughter's home in Memphis, following a short illness.  She was born on February 11, 1925 in Huntingdon, TN to the late Robert and Jewell Bolen Laster.  She was a faithful member of Leawood Baptist Church.  She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Lisa Milam; and one granddaughter, Callie Milam Tarver.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Forrest Cannon, of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Bobby Laster and Davey Lee Laster; and five sisters, Willa Jane Newcomb, Ann Boyd, Betty Laster, Billie Joy Holland, and Wanda Plate.  Visitation for Mrs. Cannon will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 Friday, May 18, 2018, with funeral services to follow the same day at 2:00.  All services are entrusted to the care of Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN, 38133.  Those wishing to honor her memory are requested to make a donation in her memory to the Animal Rescue of your choice.
