Beloved mother and grandmother, Helen Delores Cole, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

Helen was born on May 8, 1944, in Middleton, TN, and moved to Florence, Alabama as a teenager. There she met her future husband and partner in life, Carl "Skip" Cole, who would be by her side for 56 years. Together, Helen and Skip built a beautiful life and were blessed with two daughters — Dana (Cole) Gentry and Angie Cole.

Above all, Helen took joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother to one grandchild, Lindsee Gentry. Helen is remembered for her loyal friendship, Southern hospitality, unwavering faith, and quiet wit – as well as her famous lasagna. She was never happier than time spent with family watching Alabama football or hosting holiday dinners. When she wasn't busy serving others, Helen enjoyed reading a good murder mystery, watching a Hallmark holiday movie and listening to country music.

Her family takes comfort that Helen has been reunited with the love of her life and best friend, Carl, in heaven.

She is survived by daughter Dana Gentry (James); daughter Angie Cole; granddaughter Lindsee Gentry; brother, Aubrey Lee Luttrell; and sisters Jeanette Ray, Ann Johnson, and Wanda Whitley. She was preceded in death by husband Carl Cole; parents James E. and Evelyn Luttrell; and brothers, Jerry, Bobby, Dan and Joe Luttrell.
