Helen Mashburn went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Lena Wilson, her husband James Mashburn, and a grandson, Nicholas Jones.
She was married to her husband James for 56 years. They had a daughter Sandra Lewis and a son Michael (Kay) Mashburn.
She loved her grandchildren Brian (Stephanie), Matt, Brandon, Drew, and Megan (Blake) and greatgrandchildren (Blake, Tyler, Chloe, Wyatt, Samantha, and Harper). She was also waiting for the birth of her first great great grandchild (Oakley) due in December.
She had an extended family in her church, she was a longtime member of Longview Heights Baptist. When she was able, she was there and always enjoyed her lady's luncheons. Then as she got older, she loved her visits and time with those that were able to come and just say hello.
Helen loved to cook. All the grandchildren loved her chicken and dumplings. Friends and family loved her fried pies and several other dishes. She loved making beautiful quilts, crocheting just about anything, and sewing. Also, loved working in the garden and her flower beds where she grew fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers.
She touched so many with the things she made, that her life and legacy will always live on whether it be an ornament on a Christmas tree, a hair scrunchy in a young lady's hair, or a quilt for the bed. She will forever be in our hearts.
