Helen Hayse McVay 83, of Memphis passed away Monday, August 27, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital. She was born on March 1, 1929 in Lepanto, AR to Lawrence and Florence Hayse. Helen was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Doris Hayse, Hazel Hayse, and Velma Hayse; one brother, Mack Hayse; and a son, Norman Ray McVay who died Friday, August 24. She leaves two sons, Larry Raymond McVay (Ellen), of Olive Branch, MS and Billy Glenn McVay (Stephanie), of Memphis; two brothers, Raymond Hayse, of Marked Tree, AR, and Sam Hayse, of Brookland, AR; four sisters, Thelma Phillips, of Brookland, AR, Betty Spangler, of Charlottesville, IN, Portia Wood, of Lake City, AR, and Bobbie Pankey, of Brookland, AR; one grandson, Christopher Karl McVay; and two great-grandchildren, Haley Christine McVay and Tyler Christopher McVay. Helen was an entrepreneur of garage sales, a member of The Vine Church of Memphis, and a former member of Willow Oaks Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved her church. Funeral services for Helen and Norman will be 2 pm Wednesday at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with interment to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery South. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the hour of service.
