Henry Addison "Gabby" Lynes, age 94, of Memphis, passed away September 9, 2016. A Navy veteran of WWII, he is survived by his wife of 73 years, Annie, four children, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Raleigh Methodist Church, the American Legion and the 40&8 for which he was locally a past Chef De Gare. Occupations included square dance caller, plumber and an agent of Shelby County government. He possessed such kindness of stray animals that he took many into his home making them members of his own family who he loved very much. All animals had a friend and protector in Gabby. A private graveside service will be held September 13. Please send memorials to the Memphis Humane Society or charity of choice .
