Henry William Nelson, 90, born in New Castle, VA, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2013, at his home in Millington. He was a WWII Navy veteran serving in Maui as an aviation mechanic. After service he made his home in the Memphis/Millington area retiring from Federal Civil Service after 35 years and was a member of Forest View Church of Christ. Mr. Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Martha; children, Karen Hanson, Stephen Nelson (Lorna), Alex Nelson (Thuong), Christian Nelson, Marta Hill (John), Liz Thompson (Randy), Michael Nelson; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John Henry Nelson. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service begins at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 17 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home.
