IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry Leon
Smith
October 7, 1934 – October 10, 2024
Henry Leon Smith, 90, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife of 40 years, Marion Joyce Smith; four sisters, Bernice, Cecil, Alma, and Alyne; three brothers, Carl, Luke, and Roy; as well as his parents, John H. and Carrie I. Smith.
He is survived by his four daughters, Suzette (Mike) Carter, Sharon (Hugh) Staten, Connie Cannon, and Tammy Laney; two sons, Terry (Ashley) Smith and Michael (Cindy) Smith as well as 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Henry was a man that truly lived life to the fullest. His love and compassion showed and stood out to those around him. He loved messing with tractors, and antiques. He also loved CBs, hence he retired from driving trucks after 30 years. Believe it or not, Henry even had his own CB handle "TICKETMAN". However, there was no greater love or joy than what he had and displayed for his family. He met the love of his life long ago in a restaurant. Interestingly enough, he ordered a chili dog and the restaurant was out of chili. A beautiful young lady that took their order, walked across the street to get some chili. At that very moment, he knew she would be his wife. Six months later, they were married and had 6 children. His smile, wit, and love will greatly be missed.
