Herbert Wade Feathers, Sr., 83, went to be with His Lord and Savior on November 16, 2018, with his family at his bedside.   He leaves his wife, Carolyn, of 61 very happy years; five children, Becky Head (Dale); Connie Hopper (Kenny); Judy Arnold (Terry); Wade, Jr. (Felicia); Vicki Garrison (Greg); ten grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.  Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lucy Feathers; five brothers, Shorty, Charlie, VA,  Lawrence, Darnell; and one sister, Dora. Herbert was born in Slayden, MS, and raised in and around Holly Springs.  He moved to Memphis in 1952.  Herbert retired from Fruehauf Trailer Co, worked at Humko, and owned a car lot.  He was an avid car man, working on and drag racing them.  Herbert gave his heart to Jesus Christ in 1972, and was never the same.  He loved going to church, learning God's word and witnessing.  He never ceased to tell others about Jesus.  He will truly be missed by his family and others.  He was a member of Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS.  Family and friends will gather to share memories from 11:00 am-12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, followed by services at 12:00 pm at the Church.   Burial will be at Forest Hill South Cemetery.   Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park-South   (901)346-3250
