Obituary

Olive Branch - Dr. H. Wade Westbrook entered into the presence of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on Monday, May 20, 2013. He was born February 17, 1941 in Columbus, Mississippi to Doris Carlene Westbrook and Rabon Haskel Westbrook. He attended elementary and high school in Birmingham, AL. He graduated from Trevecca Nazarene College. He received a medical degree in 1971 at University of Tennessee Center of Health Sciences in Memphis. He spent his early career as a teacher and principal in Nashville, and as a pastor in the Nazarene Church. After he finished medical school, he practiced medicine as an obstetrician and gynecologist in West Memphis, Arkansas and Southaven, Mississippi. Dr. Westbrook was compassionate and cared for his patients, and was committed to protecting the lives of the unborn. Wade was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi. He served his church in several capacities including teaching an adult Sunday school class, participating in a men's weekly Bible study, and participating on a church visitation team. He enjoyed participating in medical mission trips to South America and working as a disaster relief volunteer. Wade is described as a Godly man who loved to share his faith and commitment to Jesus Christ with his family, friends, and co-workers. Dr. Westbrook was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Lois Conkey Westbrook. He is survived by his wife, Pat Westbrook; sons Kevin Westbrook (Diane), Kelly Westbrook, and Kristopher Westbrook; step-son, P.J. Weeks (Annie); granddaughters, Lauren and Julianne Westbrook; step-grandchildren, Robin Anne, William, and Jack Weeks; and brother, Larry Westbrook. A celebration of Dr. Westbrook's life will be 12 Noon, Thursday, May 23 at Trinity Baptist Church, 7200 Swinnea Road Southaven, MS, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in honor of Dr. Westbrook be made to Life Choices or Gideon's International.
