Hernando Jamie Burris McRae, Sr., went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2013. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother and brother in law, his incredible life''s story cannot possibly be summed up in these few lines but will live on in the hearts and minds of those that knew and loved him. He was a member of Cornerstone Church in Southaven, an avid fisherman and golfer. Mr. McRae was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Eldred McRae; his parents: Stanley and Juanita McRae and his grandson, Taylor McRae. He is survived by two daughters: Joni McRae Chalmers (John) and Annette Eldred Mullins (Mike) both of Southaven, two sons: Jamie McRae, Jr. of Hernando and Cary McRae (Stacey) of Horn Lake, one brother, Roy Gwin McRae (Brenda) of Olive Branch. He is also survived by these that were blessed to be part of his family: Kenny Eldred (Mattie), Peggy Eldred Yielding, Benny Eldred (Edna), Tommy Eldred (Patsy), Sam Eldred (Mary), Frank Eldred (Genie) and Mac Eldred (Debra); 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 1st with visitation Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. both at Cornerstone Church, 5998 Elmore Road in Southaven. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial donations be sent to the Taylor McRae "Dare To Be Different" Scholarship Fund in care of Foundation for Excellence in Education: 316 West Commerce St., Hernando, MS 38632.
