Homer Curry Burton, passed away October 21,2023, at Culpepper Assisted Living in Olive Branch, Mississippi. He was born in Mississippi and after serving in the United States Army in World War II he moved to Memphis, Tennessee. He left the Army and began his career in transportation, driving rail cars, city buses and semi-trucks. Homer was preceded in death by his wife Doris. He is survived by his two daughters: Patricia Burton and Betty Metcalf (Danny). He has four grandchildren: Amy, Jessica, Shayne and Curry. He has 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dog Park. Homer loved this great country and all of the people in it. He always paid his respect to fellow veterans. He never met a stranger and was always eager for conversation. He had a great memory and always had fascinating stories to tell. His legacy of love, devotion and kindness will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate to have known him.
