West Memphis - Horace Clayton Smith, 78, of West Memphis, AR passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at VA Medical Center in Memphis. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 23 at Forest Hill South with visitation Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Mr. Smith was a U.S. Air Force Veteran where he was a pioneer of the in-flight refueling. He is a retired Plumber with Union Local 17, a Shriner and member of the Scottish Rite. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joe Ann Smith, and 7 siblings. He leaves a daughter, Cheryl Garrison of Oakland, TN; two sons, Richard Smith of Memphis and Ronald Smith of Middleton, TN; one sister, Dorothy Giacosa, of Arlington, TN; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and caregiver Periann Ragland.
