Houston F. Gross, 78, of Horn Lake, MS went to be with the Lord January 10, 2017. Mr. Gross was born on December 15, 1938 in Memphis, TN to Houston A. and Virginia Gross. Mr. Gross is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Lurline G. Gross; sisters: Mary Sanders(Tommy) of Wilmington, NC and Shirley Holcroft (Sam) of Barstow, CA; brothers: Rodney Gross (Katherine), of Bay Springs, MS, Robert Gross (Shirley), of Como, MS., daughters: Ginger Gross, Jodi Buchanan(Steve), Kym Darby(David), and Candy Ellsworth, sons: Chris Ellsworth, Dana Ellsworth, and Wayne Reid;; grandchildren: Houston Gage Buchanan and Carla Brown; ten other grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He is retired from Chris Fielder Roofing and Gross Roofing. He also retired from Dillards after 10 years of service with his wonderful Dillards family. Mr. Gross was a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church in Memphis, TN, but had been attending Longcrest Baptist Church in Memphis. He was loved by many nephews, nieces, family, and friends. The family would like to thank Baptist Hospice Group, especially his caring nurse, Aimee Grant. Mr. Gross is now resting in the arms of Jesus. A visitation will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 from 12-2 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00.
