Following a long illness Hugh Cowan passed away June 27, 2018. Mr. Cowan is the son of Fred and Mary Cowan of Nashville, TN. and was born in Lebonan, TN. on December 4, 1932.  Mr. Cowan lived in Bartlett TN. and is a member of Bartlett Hills Baptist Church. He was retired from the U S Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. Mr. Cowan was a Vietnam Veteran. He also retired from Sears where he worked in Sales. Mr. Cowan enjoyed fishing, yard work, bowling in the senior league and spending time with his family. Mr. Cowan is survived by his son, Mike Cowan and wife Carol of Southaven, MS; daughter, Beth Owen and husband Bernis of Gallaway, TN; stepson, Wayne Porter and wife Kathy of Knoxville, TN; stepson, Billy Porter of Nashville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Courtney Watkins and husband Paul; Wesley Porter, Stacy Harvey and husband T.J; Matthew Owen, Jessica Owen and Tanner Cowan; 5 great-grandchildren, Gage Walton, Kiersten Harvey, Kyler Harvey, Addison Watkins and Anniston Burnett, His sister Evalyn Brown and husband Richard, sister-n-law Lyndell Cowan and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Cowan was preceded in death by his wife Margie Cowan, wife Charlene Cowan, son Fred Cowan, sister Francis Hutnick and brother Thomas Cowan. Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, East Chapel, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN, 38133 will be handling the funeral services and burial. Services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 with visitation from 12:30 - 2:00 pm with funeral services services at 2:00 pm.
