Hugh Terrell Savage, 91 years of age, passed away on April 20, 2103. He was a painting contractor, longtime member of Colonial Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon for many years, and a WWII Army veteran serving in Italy. Mr. Savage was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Lessie Opal Roberson Savage and was a proud parent of Patricia Hight (Richard) and Peggy Griffith. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Lisa Hight, Rick Hight (Jenna), Paige Atkinson Miller (Jed), Michael Griffith and two great-granddaughters. Mr. Savage greatly enjoyed golfing, traveling, reading and genealogy. Due to his great love of animals, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Memphis Humane Society. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 22 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with the family receiving friends an hour prior and burial following.
