Irby R. Cole, 84, died early Sunday morning May 15, 2016 at his home. He retired after 32 years with the City of Memphis Purchasing Dept and was a member of Forest Hill Church of Christ. Mr. Cole is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Jean Cole; sister, Evelyn Cole Clark of Jonesboro, AR and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ruth Cole; a brother and his wife, Bob H. and his wife, Larry; and a sister and her husband, Jean and Bill Schrader. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 20 until service begins at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East with interment following. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Memphis School of Preaching or the donor''s choice.
