Ishmael G. Bradford, 83, passed away October 16, 2013. He was born on July 13, 1930 to the late Lester F. and Mabel Bradford. He attended Treadwell High School. He worked at Bicknells Big Star before joining the Memphis Fire Department. He served with the MFD for 29 years, retiring as a Battalion Commander. He was a member of Grace Point Baptist Church, and was known as the Candy Man. He was preceded in death by his sister, a brother, as well as his son, Rick. He is survived by his loving wife, Susie; his daughter, Patricia Weill (Dave); his brothers, Bill (Billye Sue), Danny (Lana), and Mickey (Bonnie); six grandkids whom he adored, Brian Bradford, Amanda Turner (Johnny) and David, Emily, Brooke, and Luke Weill; and one great-granddaughter, Lacy Turner, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 12 noon until services begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 18 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following.
