Ishmael Griffin, 84, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 at his home. Mr. Griffin was an Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Whitehaven Baptist Church where he served the Lord as a deacon for over 20 years. Ishmael retired from TVA as a Unit Operator. He loved the outdoors, including farming, gardening, hunting and fishing. His parents, John and Eula Griffin and one sister, Euretha Scott preceded him in death. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Bess; three children: Bethany Loftis (David) of Midlothian, TX, Bill Griffin (Lou Ann) and Margaret Bragg (Alan) both of Nesbit; four grandchildren: Holland Yamin, Adam Hearon, Emily Bragg and Daniel Bragg. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials are sent to: St. Jude Chidren's Research Hospital, Whitehaven Baptist Church or Methodist Alliance Hospice. Visitation will be from 12: 30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 12 at Forest Hill South with service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
