Jack Newman Doty, 86, of Memphis, TN, died Friday, September 7, 2012. He was a retired pilot and teacher. Mr. Doty was a member of Open Door Bible Church, a WW II Army Air Corps veteran and an avid fisherman and golfer. Mr. Doty is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Doty; daughters, Trish Doty of Houston, TX, Lori Giddens of Memphis, TN and Rocky Doty of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Aaron and Emma Giddens and Gabrielle Doty; sisters, Dorothy Salgado of Fresno, CA, and Mildred Warner of Sacramento, CA. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marjorie Shirley and Jean Doty, and brother Harry P. Doty, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with visitation one hour before.
