Jack Arnold Land of Memphis and Collierville died Tuesday night at age 91 from renal failure. Mr. Land was a graduate of Central High School in Memphis and of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His occupation was Religious Education and Church Business Administration. He worked at Boulevard Baptist Church (Memphis TN) from 1954 to 1958, Highland Baptist Church (Meridian MS) from 1958 to 1960, and Colonial Baptist Church (Memphis TN) from 1960 to his retirement in 1991. He spoke at many leadership conferences and sat on numerous committees and boards both locally and regionally, and won much peer-recognition for his work.

Mr. Land is long predeceased by his parents Luther Leander Land and Emma Bryant Seal Land, both late of Memphis TN. He is also predeceased by both of his wives—Mary Murphy Land (married 1949 to 1989) and June Sparks Wallace Land (married 1995 to 2014). He is the last of his siblings, who were Bryant Seal (Chicago and Memphis), Sarah Seal Willis (Memphis), Lee Land, (Southaven MS), and Robert Land (Melbourne FL).

Mr. Land is survived by his five children Jack Land and wife Beverly Davis Land (Festus MO), Thomas Land and wife Theresa Pine Land (Drummonds TN), Nancy Land (Knoxville TN), Lee Wallace and wife Lori Williams Wallace (Overland Park KS), and Diane Wallace Swan and husband Charlie Swan (Collierville TN); 15 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Land will be held at Forest Hill-East Funeral Home in Memphis on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East Chapel, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN, 38133.  His memorial service will be held at Covenant Baptist Church in Collierville on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Forest Hill-East Cemetery immediately following the service.

He will be greatly missed.
