Jackie Merrel Bennett, 75, of Memphis, TN passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 after a long illness with lung cancer. Jack is survived by his wife, Willa of 55 years; a son, Roger Bennett (Kathi) and a daughter, Vicki Johnson (Kevin). He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren: Brandon, Brian, Mandy, Kevin and Rachel; 3 Great-grandchildren: Brayden, Amy and Emmett. He was preceded in death by his parents: Louis Vernon and Mary Catherine Bennett and 2 sisters: Vivian South and Wauniece Bay. Mr. Bennett attended Colonial Baptist Church and was retired from I.C.G. Railroad and Shelter''s Properties. Visitation will be Monday, April 3, from 12:30-2:00 pm at Forest Hill South with service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
