Jacquelyn "Jackie" Brunson Ayers, age 75, passed away on April 23, 2018 in Jackson, TN surrounded by her family. Born August 9, 1942, Jackie was the daughter of Pearl (Bridwell) and Willis Frederick Brunson. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jimmy Ayers; brother, Peter Brunson; son, Lawrence (Larry) Ayers; daughter, Renée Appleman; four grandchildren, Caitlin White, Lauryn Ayers, Alan Ayers, and Cody White; nephew, Bradley Brunson and nieces, Brooke Melton and Stacey Renzelman. She was predeceased by her son, Terrance (Terry) Ayers.
Jackie was born and raised in Memphis where she spent most of her life as an active member of the community, hostess to many parties and family gatherings, and small business owner. Jackie was a hairstylist for over fifty years and owned King's Den Hair Salon in midtown; her passion was caring for her customers, many of whom became her extended family and lifelong friends. Jackie was an animal lover and avid gardener; she always enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting with friends and camping and kayaking trips with her family. Her greatest gift was extending hospitality to others, and she did not believe in strangers, only friends she had not met yet. Any room in her home or seat at her table was always open to those in need of good company, care, and her extravagant generosity. She loved her family unconditionally, and she will be sorely missed.
