James "Jim" Acklin passed from this life into the next on October 24, 2014, at the age of 88. After retiring from a 27 year career at Krispy Kreme, Jim loved being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. A devoted husband of 56 years, he leaves his loving wife, Carolyn; his son David Acklin, wife Gena; 2 daughters JoAnn Ingram, husband Craig and Cheryl Patrick, husband Eric; Brother, Jesse Acklin; 10 Grandchildren and a host of beloved family and friends. The family will receive friends at Forest Hill Funeral Home on Whitten Road, Sunday, October 26, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. and graveside service Monday, October 27, 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery on Whitten Road.
