James Kyle (Boppa) Anthony Jr., 87, formerly of Memphis, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, in Conway. He was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Courtland, Miss., to the late James Kyle and Hattie Morris Anthony.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945. He began his career with Memphis Lamp Plant of Memphis, Tenn., in 1950, and retired in 1986 after 36 years. He was a deacon and member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and Audubon Park Baptist Church of Memphis. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernie Wheat Anthony of Conway; two daughters, Jan (Travis) Eldridge of Brandon, Miss., and June (Ken) Andrews of Petit Jean Mountain, Ark.; four grandchildren, Brad (Merle) Eldridge of Brandon, Miss., Jessica (Casey) Sowell of Conway, Seth (Laurie) Andrews of Parker, Colo., and Meghan Eldridge of Brandon, Miss; and numerous great-grandchildren. Service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Forest Hill South Funeral Home in Memphis, with visitation one hour before service. Burial will be at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
