James Barnes, 80, of Olive Branch passed away September 23, 2022.

He is survived by the love of his life of 61 years, Beverly Barnes, whom he lovingly called Red; two daughters, Tricia Davis (Jim) and Missy Barnes; three grandchildren, Annie Davis, Wood Davis and Libbie Davis; one sister, Donna Hardin (Kenny); and one brother-in-law, Buddy Houck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Margarette Barnes; and his sister, Barbara Houck.

James spent most of his career working in the grocery industry.

James was a drag racer for almost 50 years.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR when he wasn't racing himself.  His most recent passion was cheering on the New York Yankees. He enjoyed spending time outside and always found projects to do.

Most importantly, he loved his family.
