James Roger Benton Sr. was born March 20, 1940, in Marshall County, MS.

James is preceded in death by his father and mother, his eight siblings and one son, Quinton Donelson of Iowa.

James accepted Christ at an early age and grew up in Shiloh M.B Church in Mississippi. He united with other churches until he found his home at Mt. Moriah M.B Church where he served until his health failed.

James leaves to Christ his memory, three sons, James Roger Benton Jr., Johnny Thomas, and James Benton Jr., (trying to locate), two daughters Felicia Benton Pegues, and Brenda Taylor, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
