James Lambert Brasfield, 85-years-old, passed away on January 5th in Cordova, TN. James was born on March 7, 1928 in Crockett County, TN to Robert Taylor and Nynn Almyra Brasfield. James grew up on a farm in Friendship, TN near his sweetheart, Mary Nell Duncan Brasfield. James is preceded in death by only two weeks by his wife of 65 years, Mary Nell. He leaves his children, Jim Brasfield (Barbie) and Jo Powers (Pete); grandchildren, Josh Storz, April Allen (Chris), Jake Storz (Kristin), Anna Brasfield, as well as great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Austyn Storz, Evie Allen, Jackson and Peyton Powers, and Brayden Tudor. In addition he leaves behind his siblings Myra Grace Wright (Ray) Bob Brasfield, Helen Shores, and Nita Simpson. There will be a visitation at 11:00 a.m. and the service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 6185 Rowsey School Road, Bethel Springs, TN 38315, on Saturday, January 11, 2014.
