James Paul Clary, 81, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born on September 12, 1931 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was the loving and devoted husband of Mary Jane Clary for fifty-six years and the most awesome father of Charles (Carole) Clary of Columbia, S.C., Chip (Vesta) Clary of Thailand, Carlyn Reynolds of Bartlett, TN, Donna Clary of Bartlett, TN and Kellye Clary of Memphis, TN. He was a retired Financial Controller for the United States Defense Logistics Agency. He has been retired for the past twenty-six years and enjoyed the extended time with his family and friends. He was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher at Elliston Baptist Church and Cherry Road Baptist Church, as well as serving as a sound technician for both churches. He also attended and served at Colonial Baptist Church. He was the loving Papa to James Clary, Brandon Reynolds, Kristen Reynolds, Hannah Clary, Mary Brown, Lurah Foley and great-grandson Connor Brown. He leaves his brother, Lloyd Clary of Pangburn, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Edyth Clary. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, January 20 and service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 21 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Cherry Road Baptist Church, Forest Hill Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
