James Ronald "Ron" Coats, 85, of Crenshaw, MS, formerly of Memphis, TN passed away on May 26, 2021. Ron retired from the trucking industry where he worked in all departments including as a driver, terminal manger and also an owner of his own business. In his later years he worked for the College of Optometry in the security department.

He was a member of Crenshaw Baptist Church and a former active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville, MS.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Shelvy J. Coats, his son, Leonard "Lenny" Coats; two sisters, Barbara Langford and Diane O'Brien. He leaves his son, James M. Coats (Cathy) of Marion, AR; one grandson, Brian Wirges (Kristen) of Dyersburg, TN; three great-grandsons, Parker Coats, Hudson and Dawson Wirges.

Graveside services will be at 2pm on Tuesday, June 1 at Forest Hill Cemetery South.
