James Vernon Creasy, 92, of Collierville, TN, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2014. He was inducted in the U.S. Army Air Force in September 1942 where he proudly served as a Technical Sergeant and Radio Operator in the 58th Air Signal Warning Detachment during WWII, serving in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was decorated with the EAME Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal with 5 Bronze Stars and awarded the Croix de Guerre, the highest honor given by the French Government. After serving his country, he returned to the family furniture business, then started a realty company before beginning his career as a PGA Golf Pro at Pine Hill Golf Course for over 30 years. Mr. Creasy also was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and a Mason. He is survived by his three daughters, Verna Scott, Beverly Parris, Becky Hammond; brother, Fred Creasy; six grandchildren, Stacy Flowers, Eden Star, Jeffrey Hammond, Deaton Hammond, Chelsea Berryhill, Madison Parris; and three great-grandchildren, Kyle Bass, Skylar Flowers, and Harrison Flowers. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until service begins at 2:30 on Friday, March 21 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following.
